The woman in white linen trousers
is scrubbing at marks on them
only she can see. An old couple
share a pastry, and the pleasure
of each other’s company. We’re
hitting 20 degrees already, and
the lass opposite is still rocking
a leopardskin print coat and boots
while the man in the England shirt
looks like he’s been up all night,
still can’t quite believe it.
