Today we launched our revamped website, which we love and hope you will too. It has a fresher feel, is more dynamic, and is structured to help us with discoverability to grow even faster in the future. It has taken loads of work from our team over the past few months – and it’s now ready.

Our front page will now be updating throughout the day as new content is published. So do keep coming back, have a browse through it, send us comments – and share articles you like!

      Yorkshire Bylines success story

Since our launch in April 2020, Yorkshire Bylines has been an incredible success story. We have grown from a small band of enthusiasts, to over 250 citizen journalists, sub-editors, podcasters, social media volunteers and web support, who all come together to make this possible. Thanks to them, we are able to bring you articles that we believe are informative, interesting, and thought-provoking.

We’ve had over 3.25 million visits to our site and our reach continues to grow, as people share our articles far and wide. Now we need to move to a new site that will support this growth and help ensure our long-term sustainability.

The transition has been the work of several weeks. With over 1,600 published articles, it was a significant task to move them all across to the new format. We are immensely grateful to our team of volunteers who helped to do this. There will no doubt be a few glitches and missing hyperlinks. If you spot any, please let us know.

We would also like to thank the team at Yes We Work, who provided our original site template and helped to launch the various Bylines titles. This original template will remain in use across the other Bylines, at least for the time being. Yes We Work were a huge help throughout our first year of development and we quite literally could not have got this far without them.

      Help power our digital growth

Without you, this growth couldn’t have happened. Whether you are a reader, a subscriber, or a donor, the fact that you have come back to Yorkshire Bylines time and time again has provided the confidence, and the resources, for us to continue this journey.

Yorkshire Bylines is now part of a network of publications that stretches across the country. This network is expanding all the time, with each Bylines site run by yet more amazing volunteers. See the other Bylines publications here.

Unlike other publications, we do not rely on a paywall, and we limit our ads to ensure the best experience for readers. Any contribution to support us would be hugely appreciated.

We can’t wait to bring you more exciting investigations, projects, and collaborations, in the coming months.
