Brexit can be unintentionally absurd, even funny at times and despite its innumerable disasters, the unfolding saga can still gift us with the occasional laugh.
Open with caution!
There was a recent poll held by GB News on Twitter which sought to test the pro-EU polling that has been emerging recently… and it backfired in spectacular fashion.
The poll asked:
“If given the chance again would you vote FOR or AGAINST Brexit?”
18,700 people voted.
The result was 55% of people who voted were against Brexit and 45% were for Brexit. The presenter, former Brexit Party MEP Martin Daubney, was not expecting this and his embarrassingly awkward reaction says all you need to know about how shocked he was:
They then followed up with speculative on-the-spot excuses:
Keep on digging…
Researcher and writer Caroline Coram, following up on the poll for the avoidance of doubt, posted a another referencing the GB News poll asking:
“Referencing GB News Poll on BREXIT. For the avoidance of doubt, and bots, could we do a quick retake on this one? Would you, if there was another referendum, vote for or against BREXIT? We will be watching Please RT for a broader view.”
Over 64,000 voted.
The result was 78.8% for no Brexit and 19.4% for Brexit.
We should not really be surprised at these pro-EU results because the indications are that the UK overall seems to have realised that Brexit was a mistake and has weakened the country in just about every way possible.
A pig in a poke
Brexit-supporting politicians are still not able to list any real benefits, with some like David Davis now saying that there have been no economic benefits so far.
Recently, a Conservative minister Andrew Griffith was asked to provide just one benefit the UK has gained a result of Brexit and he could not name one.
It is only a matter of time until Brexit itself destroys Brexit.
Is it any wonder why certain political figures do not like talking about their doomed and deluded project? No matter, as long as we continue to, eventually they’ll have no choice.
