Victoria Trofimenko is an award-winning Ukrainian film director and writer. She is a member of the European Film Academy. Victoria's debut feature film, 'Brothers: The Final Confession', based on the Swedish bestseller by Torgny Lindgren, was the first Ukrainian film since independence to be selected for three group 'A' film festivals and received numerous international awards. Currently, she is a visiting scholar and creative writer at the University of Texas at Austin, working on a play based on the script of her ongoing project (fundraising stage), 'Yakiv', which focuses on the period of Holodomor in Ukraine, a forced famine and genocide caused by Joseph Stalin in 1932-1933.
