Rod was brought up in a working class family in Thornton, Bradford,
where he had a very happy childhood. He was one of the lucky ones who
passed the 11-plus and attended Thornton Grammar School. After
studying modern languages at Durham University, he did his post graduate course at Carnegie College of Physical Education - my first love was always sport. After a career in teaching, he now combines two interests: storytelling and Yorkshire dialect.
