Civil engineer Morgan Trowland grew up in rural Canterbury, New Zealand. He has lived in the UK for the last decade working as a bridge designer.
Over this time he has become increasingly active in climate protests with the groups Extinction Rebellion and Just Stop Oil, and has six previous convictions relating to protest actions.
Morgan has won industry awards for his work creating high-tensile bamboo structures.
