Hamish is commissioner for all English Hansa towns to the Hanseatic League. Born to Scottish parents, he moved to Beverley in East Yorkshire when he was a child. He spent some time in the Merchant Navy before working as a shipping manager and ultimately as International Sales Director of a business that specialised in sales of bicycle accessories around the world. He has been married for 49 years and has two daughters and five grandchildren, all living nearby in Yorkshire.
