Dick Davies trained as an engineer, and has spent most of his life in the voluntary sector teaching media skills. He is widely travelled and enjoys learning about the culture (and especially the food) of other people. He is chair of the trustees of Wakefield District City of Sanctuary where he is an active volunteer. He is a passionate supporter of his many new friends who have sought sanctuary in the UK. He is an ofcumden from the London area who has stayed in Yorkshire because of the warmth of welcome he has found.
