Christine Gledhill is a retired teacher and writer in cinema studies, continuing to publish in this area on a freelance basis. She is co-founder and co-ordinator of Women’s Film and Television History Network—UK/Ireland. She joined Compass during its Campaign for a Progressive Alliance, followed its podcasts during the Covid pandemic, and, convinced of the need for PR as a means of changing the UK political system and its social outcomes, joined Compass York and North Yorkshire, onto whose committee she was co-opted prior to the York and North Yorkshire Mayoral election.
