Arnold Warneken was the first Green to be elected in Northern England in 1990, when he won the Marston Moor seat on Harrogate Council, and is now a councillor for the Ouseburn Division on North Yorkshire Council. He and his wife set up Goosemoor Organics in 1989 and he remains involved in sustainable businesses.

A proactive councillor, Arnold tries to find time for family and fun. He plays folksy blues and loves a protest song.
